This winter holds out the promise of another spectacular golfing period in Algarve with two great new golf courses being opened in September and a new five star hotel in the heart of the Vilamoura complex on schedule for a January opening.

Nick Faldo, Europe's most successful star, has designed one of the new courses and the Irish former Ryder Cup star Christy O'Connor jnr has designed the other. They are both near Silves and join the othert five established courses in Vilamoura under the Oceanico banner, putting Vilamoura at the very centre of Algarvian golf.

Also in the same Oceanico group is the Arnold Palmer course named Victoria which has already hosted the World Cup and Poertuguese Masters, where the new five-star Tivoli Victoria hotel opens soon, and the other Vilamoura course favourites of Millenium, Pinhal and Laguna as well as the renowned and much loved Vilamoura Old Course.
